Raj and I went to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with Jeremy, Jenna, Patty (Jeremy's mom), Mark (Patty's husband), Cecilia and Renee (Mark's daughters) and Jill, Bob, Randi and Tim (Jeremy's family's friends). 6/16/06 - We flew from San Jose to Los Angeles, got breakfast at the LAX Chili's, then flew on to Cabo. We arrived at our hotel, Pueblo Bonito Rose, before our room was ready so we grabbed our pool gear and scouted out some chairs. We relaxed, played in the pool, read and Raj and Jeremy played frisbee in the beach. After everyone arrived, we walked up the beach to Billygan's for dinner.
6/17/06 - Raj and I slept in then grabbed lunch with the group. We walked into town and picked up basics - milk, bread, peanut butter, bananas - at the grocery store. Dinner was at Billygan's.
6/18/06 - We all got up early to watch the sun rise. It was beautiful, and we even got to see some dolphins. Raj and I spent our day walking along the beach and through town. We had lunch at Iguana Restaurant, walked around some more, had dinner at Mango Deck and drinks at Billygan's.
6/19/06 - Raj and I spent the morning/afternoon wandering around town and searching out a dive shop. We decided on Land's End Divers and scheduled our dive for the next day and a snorkel trip for the day after. Raj and I had lunch at Baja Cantina Dockside Bar. We ran into the group at the pool and joined them for some drinks, swimming and tanning (although Jeremy was the only one seriously working on tanning, and he probably got enough color for all of us). Dinner was at Mango Deck - I got the ribs and they were delicious.
6/20/06 - Raj, Jeremy and I dove with Land's End Divers in the morning (the water was really green and I lost our group a couple times). We had burgers and fries for lunch at Cafe Dorian (well, Jeremy and I did; Raj had something non-meaty). The group went to dinner at Captain Tony's, then hit a couple bars for drinks.
6/21/06 - Raj, Jeremy, Jenna and I got up early for breakfast at Captain Tony's, then went snorkeling with Land's End Divers. We snorkeled Pelican Rock while the divers on our boat did their first dive. The water was freezing, but much clearer than it had been the day before and we could see lots of fish. Our boat skipper, Raj, Jeremy and Julio the dive master all jumped or dove off of Pelican Rock. We spent the surface interval on Lover's and Divorce Beach (the surf was rough, so getting in and out of the boat was interesting). During the second dive, our skipper drove us around the arch and gave us a tour of Land's End and its resident seals. We had lunch at Haagen-Dazs (yum!). Raj, Jeremy, Jenna and I had dinner at Mare Nostrum, a restaurant at the hotel (salad and dessert bar!), watched the sun set, then joined the group at Billygan's.
6/22/06 - Raj and Jeremy went diving with Land's End Divers in the morning, then Jenna and I met them in town and got lunch at El Arch & Anchor. They ran out of iced tea, so we had to drink margaritas. After lunch, we hung out at the pool. Dinner was at Mango Deck, and Raj, Cecilia, Renee and I got dessert at Senor Sweets.
6/23/06 - Raj, Jeremy, Jenna and I got up early and had breakfast at Captain Tony's. We headed back to the room, gathered up our stuff and flew from Cabo to LA to San Jose. Our flights were delayed but we made it home safely with all of our luggage. Hooray!
